What awaits me ...

Weeds ... and dry ground.
The left row is flowers, the center row is celery, the right row is carrots. This is the worst, but the whole garden needs to be weeded.
We got home today after two weeks on the road and it was 90+ degrees outside. And the yard needed mowing so I didn't get much weeding done today. I weeded one of the celery and up to the one on each side of it. Every weed wants to anchor on to a brick of dirt.
When I first got to the garden I looked at the rain gauge, it showed one inch. Not sure from when or how much had evaporated. Some of the corn is almost knee high, but not the 1st planting.
Then I looked for the asparagus, did not see any so it may have finally died out. Next I looked through the fence at the strawberries. There are some, some look past their prime.
One of the milkweed looks chopped/eaten off. The other 13 plants are doing good. It doesn't look like any of the seeds I planted came up. I will have to look closer to see what flowers are coming up next to the milkweed.
In my 'west' garden I 1st see the raspberries, they are not looking good. Then I look for my sunflowers, there are not any. So I go back to the east garden and that is when I see that all of the first planting of sunflowers were eaten off at about nine inches high. Likely not the bunnies, but could have been. Then I see the leaves from the squash gone. Same as last year, the whole leaves are gone. I would think if it was bunnies it would just be small parts of them.
Inside my fenced garden (pictured above,) is the worst for weeds. I'm not sure what is up, but it looks like I only got a half a planting of peas. Not sure what happened there, but I noticed when I was pulling weeds ... I was using a small garden shovel to loosen the dirt and it kept dropping into the underlying mole tunnels. MAY be a connection.
Onions all seem to be looking good. The ones from last year are going to seed already. The rest look very healthy but I'll know more once I weed them out.
Blueberries aren't ready yet and the blackberries are all fresh vines.
I just did the math and if I do my one more planting of corn it would be ready the middle of September. Mmmm ... I don't think so, but.
Or maybe I will look for more blueberry plants. It looks like some of the nurseries are still open. Some places, like Home Depot, sell stuff for half off at the end of the season.
