This is what happens

This is what happens when you try to 're-use.' In this case I was re-using an old mattress spring for garden things to climb on. It works good for flowers. It worked OK for the peas. But when I let the watermelon climb on it, one of them got 'stuck and will now need to be chopped up to get it off. I am surprised that the vine (and the spring) are supporting it.

I usually can't get watermelon to get ripe before the frost. This year we have had two good ones. But first we had picked one too early. And now we have another three that look like they will make it.

Zucchini are back to producing. I clipped of a half dozen foot long plus ones and now there are some ready. Actually I should get it tonight, tomorrow ??

And I picked enough raspberries to cover the bottom of the bowl. Desert for one.

Temps here are supposed to get down in the 40's overnight but no frost for the next 10 days.

LOTS of tomatoes. IF I get ambitious I should get the picked and try to make juice again Tried it last year with the cherry tomatoes and it was a lot of work for four ounces of juice.

Beans are still producing but no one wants them. Peppers are still producing, we haven't thrown too many of those away.

When nothing needs to be done, it is easy to do nothing. Lots I could be doing, like getting the fence posts into the ground before the ground freezes, I did mow again today, Maybe the last time for the year? Or maybe not. Sometimes it gets hot again in September.
