... but I didn't plant any.
May 25, 2020
I thought I had done a pretty good job of digging the potatoes last fall but I guess not. I even have potatoes growing where I didn't have potatoes last year ???
We had expected lots of rain again today. We got another 1/10. Forecast is for rain overnight again tonight and most of the day tomorrow. It is enough to keep the ground from blowing but not setting any records.
Everything has started coming up. Beets were up yesterday, Flowers are coming up most places. Weeds are up everywhere. In some places the ground is green with small weeds. Other places it is the tall grass with long roots. Looks like I will have plenty of time to stay ahead of it.
Might have to start getting out there earlier, it was up in the mid-70's today and a little warm with the sun.
So far no bunny damage other than the egg plants. As soon as it stops raining I will try to get over the who garden once. Knocking down that first batch of weeds really makes things easier later on.
Weeds? I used to plant morning glories along a fence we took down five ?? years ago. Those morning glories are now like weeds growing everywhere on that end of my garden. Today I took the plants from the largest groups and transplanted them next to my compost pile. Those morning glories aren't up yet. We'll see if they survive the transplant.
Not sure what I'm going to do about the potatoes. I usually just let them grow but there are quite a few this year. Maybe let some grow? Try to transplant others where corn isn't growing?
My 2nd plantings of corn seem to be coming up much better than the 1st. So I don't think has anything to do with the seed.
