My compost pile had gotten overgrown with morning glories and I didn't know there were tomatoes growing underneath. And I never did find the potatoes growing in the compost pile. I should have dug them when the vines were still alive, easier to find.
I found them when I was pulling out my fence to fence out the rabbits from my blueberries. Maybe next year I will use the taller fence in the summer too.

Before I fenced my blueberries, I covered most of them with bags. Most of them. There are two that are too big to cover and the bunnies didn't hurt them too much last year. And bagging them didn't seem to hurt them last year. It was the first winter that I didn't have any die due to bunny damage.
This year I had planted flowers between some of the blueberries. Looked like a good idea until now. Once the flowers got too big they started overtaking my blueberries and when I went to pull the vines out today, I was busting off branches of the blue berries.
We had gotten about nine inches of snow when we were gone last week. Most of it is gone but still enough that the north side of the house wouldn't be easy to rake. And lots of the leaves are still on the trees. The trees were not ready for the early snow either. Sounds like it was the biggest snow that early in the fall.
But this weekend and next week should be back up in the 40-50's.
