Leaves are gone ...

but I can't see the tracks. A lot of leaves gone, it does make it easier to see the beans. And these are inside the fence. Rabbits would have started at the bottom of the plant.

We are off the road for a few more days for medical appointments. So plenty of time to garden.

First thing I did this AM was walk out to the garden with a shovel to stir up the bees. The bees seem to be staying close to something that looks like a comb of honey so I left them alone.

A little later my wife was over there picking the first squash. She didn't see the bees, she didn't know where they were and doesn't see all that well. I need to get them moved :)

Later in the day we picked six zucchini, three peppers and a couple of onions. For supper we had philly chicken sandwiches. Onions and peppers from the garden. Mmmm ...

I also picked my first year of corn, it's ready. Now to guess which of the rest of the planting are ready. It looks like we should have a meal of corn tomorrow ... or I will just eat the one ear.

Wife did pick three more cherry tomatoes today, not enough for a salad so she ate them in the garden. The other tomato plants have lots of green fruit but this one is pretty slow, as is the squash next to it, and the pepper ... more compost next year?

Ate a few more blue berries, there aren't many left. I started weeding around the biggest plant today and there are a lot of berries on the ground. I think as soon as they are ripe they fall and the birds get them.

Where I weeded last night there had been sunflowers. They were all eaten off but four still had at least one leaf on them, and I sat on one so now there are three. I doubt they will last very long, the first planting didn't.

It is supposed to rain again tomorrow.
