These are the good ones, there were also a few that we were able to trim off the bad and use and then there were a lot, maybe about 1/4th this many, that were just bad. Some had been eaten off of and others almost looked like they had been froze on the bottom side. And some were already mush.

There are also some I left in the garden that were this red but were kind of small. I do plan on picking them before we leave.

My other project today was thinning the corn. I am still using corn for 2014 and in most places where the moles didn't get it, I am still getting 100% germination. I really should have thinned the corn earlier, between that and the loads of weeds, a lot of moisture and nutrition are being sucked out of the ground.

Also did some weeding today. My west garden is weeded except for the berries. And the east garden I have some corn left to weed and then I should re-weed the strawberries.

The asparagus should have been coming up once the day temps were reaching 60 degrees and keep producing into June. June is almost over and still nothing so I guess I will be expanding my strawberries into the asparagus patch next year.

Saw my first zucchini for this year. It is about four inches long, by tomorrow it might be a foot long :)

Tomatoes are shoulder high but the peppers aren't doing too well yet. Egg plants seem to be coming back after some of the leaves were eaten off.

I looked at the milkweed. Still no butterflies, but I noticed that the one milkweed that had it's top chopped off seems to be pushing up a new top from the side of the stalk. I'll have to watch that one.

We had 2/10th's of rain yesterday and another 1/2 inch today so we should be good until the next rain comes in Friday and then it looks like a good chance of rain almost every day the following week.

Need to get back on the road, I'm running out of gardening to do.
