I'd been watching the temps every morning and Sunday night it didn't make it down to 32 but it was 28 Tuesday morning when I woke up. Forecast now is for a few more nights in the 40's and then lows in the 50's.
So I thought I would be ready to plant Tuesday AM. Wrong. Old person problems. After doing some yard work on Monday, raking, shoveling, I took a break before heading out to my garden. As I'm sitting, roll up my shirt sleeves and ... huge black and blue mark on my arm. Wider than my fist. Red in the center and grey up the arm.
That kind of spooked me as I am on blood thinner so I called what I thought was the lab to see if I should come in. No one must have answered and it rolled to a nurse without me knowing it. Soon I was talking to a Dr who did want me to coming for a blood test.
If I was having issues I didn't want to aggravate it so I didn't do any gardening for Monday night or Tuesday AM. Turns out my blood is normal (for me) So I could just be starting to have old peoples problems. I've seen lots of older people who are black and blue and they says they don't know what from.
Finally later in the afternoon I got out and filled the hole left from digging out the stumps. Then spread the last of the compost that I've been bring from my Mom's.
So it was after 6 PM when I finally went out to rototill. It does make it much easier to do the tilling the long way and only having to turn around a few times. Still, if I had had more time I would have split the time and taken a break between. Instead I spent more time picking the rocks I was kicking up to give myself a rest.
When I was done I took a break and then went back out and got the whole area raked level. Also chased two bunnies out of my yard so I decided I'd better put up a fence. So before I came in for the night I put up the fence the bunnies were running through last year. But the bunnies have grown so I don't think they will be able to get in.
Finally came in just before last light.
Forecast for tomorrow is to rain mid-day. That was another reason I wanted to have stuff planted today, before it rained. Hopefully I get my 2nd fence up and some of the stuff planted before the rain.
