1st corn is up ... the 1st planting of the 78 and 89 day corn are both up. No sign of the 65 day corn yet. And there may not be. Where the 65 day corn was panted is now one big mole area. Those three corn plantings and my strawberries were all I planted that day.

Forecast was for rain today so I got started early. Even when the current weather said it was raining, it wasn't. This AM and again this PM it was up to 85% chance of rain and it didn't, so we got the 15% chance that it wasn't raining.

I finally started watering this afternoon on into the evening.

First thing I did was get my fence up so that the rabbits wouldn't get what I transplanted if I had to go in in case it started raining. I ended up fencing more than the area on my chart so my chart is work in progress.

So today I planted the following seeds

Carrots

Beats

Beans

Peas

Corn

Flowers

And transplanted

Onions

Eggplants

Tomatoes

Peppers

Flowers

Squash

Watermellon

Celery

I had forgotten celery last week when we bought our other plants so I went back to the nursery today. I did get celery, but they were now out of onions and I had only bought half as many as I needed. Last year I think I bought half starters and half sets, this year I was going to go with all starters. Nursery was also out of the white onion starters.

Also I planted some things our grand-daughter had gotten. They had come in mini-sized pots and all you were supposed to have to do is wet the 'dirt' pack, drop the seeds on top and grow them in doors. I planted them outside without the pots. There were six little pots, one each of viola, oregano, basil, thyme, parsley and cilantro.

So all I have left is to plant corn once a week ... and find some more onions. Also plan on planting more flowers but I will need more seed.

Earlier today I wasn't following my chart and planted some other stuff where flowers were going to go. Part of that reason was I didn't rototill one area that is two rows wide on the far side of my raspberries. It is kind of a pain as it is narrow, and tree roots seem to overtake what ever I plant so it doesn't grow well. It might just become part of my yard again.

Garden looks a little different than this AM. Might just take tomorrow off :)
