Are they hungry, or trying to be helpful?

The deer (I assume) are eating off the leaves on my zucchini and squash so I can see where the 'fruit' is. It looks like they also might have taken a bite off of one of the zucchini. :(

Last week I chopped down my over grown tomato plat in hopes that I may still still get some bell peppers of the plant that had gotten over grown. A few days later I could see two small bell peppers growing ... and today I found them on the ground with a bite out of them. And a few of the pepper plant leaves missing too.

This might be why some people put up six foot high fences.

It did rain a little today but I watered anyhow. Mostly for my remaining peppers. There are a few bell peppers on one plant still growing and a few gypsy's on another plant. There should still be some tomatoes growing and the squash.

Forecast is highs of 50-80 for the next 10 days. No freeze forecast yet.

I did work on clearing the area to make my east garden longer. There used to be a 'cherry-apple' tree, blueberry sized 'fruit' but the tree was pretty in the spring. There is still a stump there and and part of the new area will be under the maple so I will be starting deal with roots on this garden too.

In town for the next couple of weeks for appointments so I should get a few more things done.
