The forecast has been for rain over hours a day over the last few days. But it disappears from the radar before it gets to us. Or it says 85% rain and nothing. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday we ended up with 1/10th of an inch each. Enough to keep the ground wet but not a good soaker. Finally Tuesday evening it started to rain, and they issued a tornado warning. But a few minutes after the sirens went off, the warning was removed.

But we did finally get almost 2.5 inches Tuesday night and then another 1/10th during the day Wednesday.

I was able to get out and weed/cultivate most of my garden today. I usually like to weed on dry days so the weeds that get up rooted die in the sun. But as fast as the weeks are growing I didn't want to wait that long.

And I got another planting of corn in, two more plantings to go. The only other planting will be moving some sunflowers and planting flowers where the corn didn't come up.

The corn I planted last Wednesday is already up.First blossom on the tomatoes already and they are only knee high.

The west end of my east garden really took an eating from the mole, I assume. Two stands of corn and part of the row of sunflowers are missing. I think there is enough corn to cross pollinate so not a total loss. So far nothing other than parts of two egg plant have been chewed.

Started thinning some of the flowers today. More flowers to thin and then start on the carrots, beats, beans and peas. I like them to get a little bigger first. Beans are big enough to thin, it's on my list.
