We've been gone three weeks, the peas and beans should be half way up this fence by now. But nothing ...
When we got home today, I walked to the garden ... the first thing I see is a bunny ... INSIDE my fence. It runs as soon as I see it but I can't see how it gets out.
Not only are my peas and beans gone, so are my beets and carrots, all my sunflowers and all the brussel sprouts. And one of the peppers.
I look around and I also do not see any milkweed. There should be some by now. Finally I see one plant. It has grown through a fence I had rolled up but only through one layer and then it followed the other rolls around. I unrolled it and left it.
Sometime during the night I was awake and decided the best way to cut the fence as to not hurt the milkweed and still be able to re-use the fence.
... not an issue. Came out the next morning and all the leaves were gone from that milkweed stalk also. Then I looked closer and saw other stalks that had been stripped. I thought milkweed was supposed to make deer sick enough that they won't try it a second time.

The bottom leaf or two are still there so I'm quite sure it is the deer. Bunnies would have started at the bottom and not chewed off the top.
