Four foot fence, seven foot polls.
Four foot fence, seven foot polls.

I has been working on getting the fence around the same area it was last year. That is where all the transplanted plants are and where the peas and beans are.

It wasn't until mid day that my wife came out to talk to me and she was asking me what was planted where. That is when I realized that the sunflowers were already coming up in the area I had planted corn. So for the rest of the day I pretty much worked non-stop. Usually I work and hour then rest an hour.

Luckily by then I had the posts up where the ground was hard or rocky. What was left was mostly sand and the posts went most of the way in just by standing on them. I did take trips to the store, first to get more posts and then to get more fence.

What I didn't get done was making sure the fence was to the ground all the way around. But it should keep the deer and the larger bunnies out.

The bigger issues I am likely to have is the moles/voles and worms.

It was almost dark when I remembered I wanted to plant more sweet corn. So now I am good for about three weeks before I want to plant more corn. And that is about how long we will be gone.

I also have not planted most flower seeds yet this year.

I am almost done clipping the pine boughs over the strawberries but the fence is mostly laying on the ground.
