2025 05 14 - Buying flowers ... and plants

Home from the nursery.

Another work day so just a few hours spent outside.

Yesterday in addition to planting the flowers, I had gone and gotten more fencing and have slowly started laying that out where it should be.

I did do more ground prep but didn't put any of the plants in the ground because the fence is not there yet.

1 - tomato plant - I think the most we have bought was six.

3 - pepper plants - different varieties. This year they are all the ones that my wife is using daily/weekly.

5 - trays of onions - 2 candy, 2 walla walla and one red. I took the last two candy trays they had so they did not look the best. And they only had a few of the Walla Walla trays left. In the past I have also bought either the small sets or non trays of onions. This is the first year for trying reds. I don't remember seeing them at this nursery before.

1 - tray of broccoli. That is a first for us. We have tried lots of other misc things before but not broccoli.

3 - kinds of squash. No pumpkins or watermellon this year. They were already out of the kind I wanted. There were two trays labeled what I wanted but one was very sickly and the other was just dirt.

We also found some fertilizer that I wanted to try where the garden was so poor last year.
