Work day so not a lot of time spent in the garden. I did get some more fence put up and then worked on planting flowers.
Morning Glories. When we bought the place, there was a a short piece of fence in one corner of the yard. Once I turned that area into a garden, I planted Morning Glories next to the fence. That was 10+ years ago. After a couple of years I quit planting them because there were so many volunteer flowers coming up.
The fence is long gone and every year I am still pulling them up as if they are weeds. The ones that come up later in the season get missed and likely go to seed so even this year there are dozens coming up in the 'old area.'
But last year almost none of the ones I planted here grew. So this year I have taken old greenhouse containers and cut the bottoms off. In hopes to make it harder for anything that may want to eat the seeds to get at them. It took way longer than just pushing seeds in the ground.

Something else from 10+ years ago. I planted three asparagus plants that never did well so I just abandoned them. But every year a few shoots still pop up.
