2024 09 26 - Home after three weeks gone

I was glad to see some milkweed in my garden again. There have been milkweed in the area of our old firepit for the last 10+ years. Then over a month ago all the milkweed turned black and died. The last few years I have had issues with ants crawling on the plants and <> killing them. I haven't had milkweed pods for quire a few years.

We've been gone three weeks and the grass in our yard is still shorter than all of the neighbors. So it doesn't look like we have had any rain for over a month now.

I was able to find three ears of corn. My last planting of corn should have been 20-40 ears of corn. I think I got 5. Some of this corn is from the first plantings of corn in my east garden that I had thought was a complete failure. I'm guessing this year it was only a 90% failure as I did get a few ears of corn but didn't really know where to look because each planting did not get ready at once.
