2024 07 15 - Welcome home

Gone.

We have been gone on vacation for five days and all ripe blue berries are GONE. These branches had been hanging full of green ones when we left.

(Am I going to have to get a wildlife camera?)

I did not find a single berry on any side of any bush. Picked clean.

So far the raspberries are still there but I have kind of let those go so there is not a really good stand. Just a few berries here and there.

And the potato bugs are busy.

I missed a good picture, three of the bugs were shoulder to shoulder on one leaf. So far I have only found them on three plants. The first plant they almost killed before I saw them. The other two had fewer bugs or was a larger plant so they should be OK.

I have not been counting them, but I'm guessing I found a couple of dozen today.

I had watered right before we left because the forecast for July is dry. Came back and there was 1-1/2 in the rain gauge and the ground was like mud when I was out pulling weeds.
