2024 06 24 - Thems the berriers

So my garden saga continues. I thought my berries were going to be doing OK this year. I weeded the berries, put a fence around them and put straw around the strawberries last year. And all looked good from a distance.

But when I went to pick the strawberries, 90% had either been chewed on or the vine they were growing on had died. Then of the ones I did pick, half of those got thrown after closer inspection. And the remaining few varied in taste from one berry to the next.

So the raspberries should be good? There are a few, but I didn't realize the ants were so think on them that when I went to pick them the ants started climbing on my arm.

Ahhh ... maybe the blueberries will be OK ... in a week or so.
