The two spots where the corn was completely gone, there was a little dark 'hole.'
Whatever it is did some damage but not enough yet to hurt the overall crop. There were some bigger stalks chewed off but fewer. I am hoping that at some point the stalks get too big for 'them' to chew them off.
And it is not just the worms. The deer are doing their damage also. And as I remove the weeds, that leaves only what I planted for them to eat ... other than grass. The deer have chewed off Blackberrier bushes, large weeds, potato tops, small bushes. They are even chewing off branches of my neighbors pine trees. They usually only go for the trees in the winter ... and he planted these because the deer are not supposed to like them.

Deer damage, blackberry bushes.
