Picture: Sweet corn.

These were the last few ears I could find. Nothing else close. Most of the last planting of corn didn't even get shoulder high and most did not produce ears. I have a blue berry bush in that area and it is still less than six inches high after a few years. The area is so sandy that sometimes I can pull out a 1-2 food grass root without it breaking off.

This corn should have been ready mid September and now it is almost mid October. Still no killing frost or even an up coming date for one. It even hit 80 again for a few days. Not sure if we will have an Indian summer this year or not.

The season is done, now I need to get out and cut off most of the corn and move my fences. I never did get some of the raspberries weeded this year.

Some of the sun flowers are still blooming and also still a few of the morning glories.

Sometime this summer all of my original milkweed died. I used to have issues with the ants damaging them, this year there were no ants but something else did them in. There are a few new milkweed growing in my strawberries but they never got big enough to bloom.

Picture. Where the squirrels break their nuts.

Not really a garden picture. This is a pile of block in my yard that will (someday) be laid down to make a path. The squirrels have decided it is a great place to crack their walnuts open. Not hurting anything and maybe keeping them busy so they have less time to steel my corn.

We have found less than dozen ears/husks in the year this year. Other years there was almost a trail to every tree of ears and husks.
