2023 08 08 - Corn

Finally getting some corn. The first of it was supposed to be ready one month ago today. That's based on the packaging :) This corn is from three different plantings. This corn should have been/be ready on 7/10, 7/30 and 8/10. Other corn that should have been ready on 7/17, 7/23 and 8/5 is not ready yet so I am expecting lots of corn ready in the next week or so.

We have now been mostly home for a week so I am finally done weeding the corn. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries still need a lot of work.

Also because of how poorly the first plantings of corn were coming up, I did not thin my corn to two stalks per hill this year. I haven't really paid attention to see if that is making a difference on the size of the ears.
