Picture: One stalk tasseling, out of about 15 hills of corn.
We are not getting the inch of rain a week that we need. Three inches does not last for three weeks.
Not sure what happened to the first three plantings of corn. With all three plantings, only a few hills out of each planting came up. And of those that did come up, only a few stalks are anywhere near tasseling. The first three plantings of corn should all be ready. None are. I picked one because the silks looked ready, not even close.

The plus side of not keeping the yard and garden clean is that the wildlife will sometimes eat weeds instead of my garden. This year the beetles have mostly left my raspberries and black berries alone. So far. And the deer will chew off the weeds and flowers instead of just my corn and sun flowers.
So far the beans are a few inches high and haven't been chewed off yet. I put up some old decorative fence around them. And then laid some more fence across the top so nothing should be able to chew them all the way off.
