Picture: This is the first of the strawberries (that I didn't eat)
This year I fenced the strawberries. Not sure if that was the biggest issue or they are finally getting established. I thought they would have started dying out for as long as I have had them in this location. I also put straw down which may be a big factor. My wife said the three best years I've had are the two years I put straw down and the one year I had put pine bows down.

The blue berry with the post is the only bush I had many blueberries off of last year. This year the one in the bottom right looks the best. But it was chewed off last year to the point I wasn't sure it was coming back. It did, but it won't have any berries this year. The rest of the plants all look like about half the branches died over the winter. They all looked like that before this latest dry spell.

Picture: Raspberries, part 2.
My raspberries got chewed off the winter before last. And I have not tended to them yet. So this area is mostly overgrown. Only a few berries last year in either patch.

Picture: Black berries.
They died off again last year so no berries this year. I had a few berries last year, one day they were there and the next they were gone. But I should be getting meals of them by now. This planting is on year five and the prior patch I had for about 10 years and no berries.
