Picture: Asparagus is back. One stalk.
I had planted asparagus one of the first years I had a garden 15+ years ago. Not planning ahead, I had planted it right in the middle. It never grew good enough and there never was enough of it to have a meal so it was mostly just there. It came back every year for years. Then the last few of years I have had little flags where it used to be so I didn't work that area up as there was so little of it. Now the last couple of years there has not been anything.
I did plant my 2nd planting of corn today. We have been in town for a week now so the corn got planted exactly a week apart. But the first planting seem to be ready pretty close together as they often don't start growing well until the weather warms up and then all plantings grow at the same rate.

Picture: Blueberry plant. Only a few leaves on this bush so far.
I did find out my three sided fence did not work very well. I had planned on buying more when I put it up but never did. It was next to the house and those bushes had not been bothered other years so I wasn't too worried about it.
The one pictured is in any area that was completely fenced and looks like it more died off than was chewed off. All of the blueberry plants did come back this year. I now am keeping a running list and I now have about a dozen (didn't look just now) living plants and have had about a dozen that have died over the last 20 years.
At some point the area around the berries will get weeded. Most of what is growing in the background is garlic chives that have been an annual for a number of years.
