2022 07 19 - Gone a few days III

We have been gone less than a week on vacation and the corn has gone 'onion' style. The corn in the back right should have been ready last week and still no ears.

We can only water every other day here, so I do that when I am home but that only gets the top of the ground wet.

There are area's of my lawn that I have only mowed once so far this year. Usually I stop mowing those around the 1st of August. The grass has pretty much gone dormant, only the weeks are still growing.

We still have rabbits and deer but with only growing corn they aren't an issue. There is corn growing in my blueberries, strawberries and flowers this year. My first thought was it was sweet corn that something transplanted for me but it could be field corn that something dragged in so I need to get it clipped before it cross pollinates.

Shown below. I have one plant of blueberries that has lost most of it's leaves and the berries are all very small. And this is the plant that had had 100's of berries on it this year. :(

I've picked a few but these went bad pretty quickly. About half my plants did not produce ANY berries this year and they were all bagged or fenced off so that was not the issue.
