Picture: My first four plantings of corn have some weeds growing. (right side)

This year we seem to be gone for 2-3 weeks at a time so the first thing I have to do when we get home is mow. The neighbors and the city will complain if the yard is not mowed. Not sure if they will complain if the garden isn't weeded.

You can see in the bottom left of the picture that where I have not planted I have not leveled off the ground yet.

I had sat out in the garden the night before this picture and weeded, but had only gotten a foot or so between two rows after an hour so I knew that was not going to work this year. Instead I was able to hoe the whole area in about an hour. There are still weeds next to the corn but the rows are clear.

Next to the existing milkweed, I had rototilled last fall and planted more milkweed and a couple of different kinds of flowers. So far one flower has come up.

Also it seems like where I plant Morning Glories they keep coming up for years afterwards so this year I did not plant any new. And nothing has come up so far. So not too pretty this year.
