PICTURE - Likely lighting strike on a tree next to our house. The tree had split into a 'V' where the lighting broke it off.

Welcome home. The person in the house did not know this had happened. There were more than one cracks of lighting/thunder that were hitting about that time and shaking the house. There does not applear to be any damage to the roof.

We came back to help in the fields but it continues to rain before it dries out.

Over the course of two days I did get my west garden rototilled. And I did get my next planting of corn in. Because it is so late, we are gone so much and the tomato's dying off mid summer ... I will be planting just sweet corn this year.

I will also be working on planting more berries and flowers.

Plan was to transplant some of my black berries closer to where the tree will be coming down but now I want to wait until the tree is gone before I do that so they do not get walked on. There are a number of new sprouts that I would otherwise rototill down that I plan on moving.

PICTURE: West garden.

On the left, just over the roof, is my flower garden. Next is the raspberries and blue berries. The bulk of it is where there will be corn this year. Then along the left where the white tipped posts are are more blue berries and black berries. Where the grass is poor on the bottom right was rototilled last fall and I plan on extending my blue berries and black berries into that area.
