Picture - Fenced / bagged blue berries.

Finally got my blueberries 'protected' for the winter. I bought some new steel fence posts and re-used the fencing that I have had the last few years.

I put one section around these blueberries and a 2nd around the other's on the other end of this garden. The blueberries by the house aren't getting any protection (yet) this winter.

When I was at the store I also bought the last five burlap bags they had in stock. They didn't have any rolled burlap which is what I was looking for. The five smallest blueberry bushes got burlap and the rest got the fence.

Last year I tried using plastic bags but I'm not sure if I will do that again this year. I was wondering if it got too warm under the bags before I got them off?

And this year I ran out of time.

As long as I had the sledge hammer out driving posts, I decided to see how it worked on the shovel.

I went and tried to dig the carrots again today. Actually it was only the one that I tried yesterday that was an issue. The others were partially covered with leaves and the ground was not frozen.

There were about a dozen ranging from 'baby' to nice sized. But we are leaving tomorrow so I just trimmed the greens and put them in the fridge.

Am I done for the year now ?
