PICTURE - Peas are still growing.

We have been near, at or below freezing overnight for the last two weeks and still these peas are growing. So is the celery.

We are going to be gone for 2-3 weeks so I finally went out and picked anything that looked close to ready. There were about a dozen pea pods and some were still blooming.

The celery was about the size of pencil lead and about six inches long, but it was the first I have picked all year. Not sure either one will be edible. This is really late in the season.

Other than that I have been digging rocks out of my flower garden area. I should have just grabbed the visible ones and planted. There are a couple of kinds of seeds I wanted to get in the ground before the ground froze.

About a week ago I stopped at a nursery to get asparagus. I thought it was supposed to be planted in the fall. This place only sells it in the spring. Guess I will be back in the spring.

I still need to get my blueberries covered up and / or fences in. Sitting and picking rocks takes less thought and energy.
