A nest?

I didn't notice it until I was right up to it weeding. It looks like a nest. Too small for a deer nest, too big for a mouse nest. And it is INSIDE my fence. Soooo ... that may be why I thought my fence was secure and still things were being eating. Something is living inside my fence.

Time to clear the weeds. I never did get the area by the blue berries weeded this year. I am finally working on that now that the grass and weeds are shoulder high.

I finally have the corn stalks cleared from the west garden and have some beans replanted there. There are also sunflowers that are finally coming up and did not get chewed off growing.

Those are up. I also planted a row of beets, hoping for a fall harvest.

When I started composting, we had a yard full of trees. Now that we have cut down <> 2/3's of our trees I was thinking we would not have much for compost. Not a problem so far this year. I have kept the compost pile almost shoulder high full and may start putting stuff in last years pile until this years starts settling.
