Ready to be cooked.
Ready to be cooked.

We got back after being good for a week plus. Lots of veggies ready.

While we were gone we had both a two inch rain and an inch and a half rain so no shortage of water. Being gone for the week I did end up throwing away a lot of sweet corn and if there were any blue berries left they are now gone also.

More tomatoes and onions.
More tomatoes and onions.

The tomatoes are from one week after being gone. The Walla Walla and Candy onions stems had died off so we dug them. I did find a few more later in the day when I went to replant beets where the onions had been. There are still more red onions in the garden because they are still growing.

One of the heavy rains took down my pole beans. I had wire cages set up so they could go up about 10 feet. but they were only supported with wire, not poles. So now I need to do something to keep them off the ground. They are finally blooming so we should get beans soon.

Off to the compost pile.
Off to the compost pile.

These squash don't seem to produce new fruit if they have older fruit they can put energy into.

The winter squash seem to be fine with both as they have expanded across my garden.

I'm hoping for a later fall because I didn't plant my fall peas until the end of August instead of mid-July. I have now also planted fall beets.

And earlier I was still planting beans and sunflowers as I cut down the corn after I pulled the ears.
