Flash floods within a couple of hours to the north and a couple of hours to the south but not even a sprinkle here.
Sometimes there is rain in the forecast and even on the radar but it just disappears before it gets here. Yesterday the forecast was for rain a couple of times later this week, a few hours later the first rain had been pushed out to 10 days.
So I went and got new sprinklers. The old one was leaking pretty bad. Fleet Farm, WOW the cheap ones weigh about as much as an empty sandwich bag and the better ones are 5x that much.
Before I see the better ones I see a sprinkler that mounts on a post. So I grab that, then a good sprinkler and another hose. Gardening is not cheap.
Today is a watering day so I run it for an hour in each area this AM and then again tonight.
The post mount works good. The later it gets in the season the harder it is for the other sprinklers to reach over the top of the corn and other plants. Also to reach over the fences.
My plan a few years ago was to have hose splitters so I would not have to move the sprinkler, just change the splitter. Now that I have one that I don't plan on moving I might finally get to that point.
Did talk to my gardening neighbor and he said that something had gotten into one of his gardens and eaten all of his ___. I don't remember what it was, but he was surprised that they ate that and left his leaf lettuce alone.
Very few of my morning glories are climbing so I spent some time weeding that area. Plants are all still there, they are just getting eaten down before they start climbing. Almost all the plants are still there.
My beans are already to the top of my five foot high fence for them so I put some tomato cages on top of the fence. That adds another four feet. Not sure how we are going to pick them ...
There are a few peas almost ready, but with so few that made it there isn't really enough for a meal for one person at a time. More of just a snack.
I did a walk around the garden and anywhere anything had been poking through, it has been chewed off. Black berries, squash, etc.
